Grand Cearn de Barnenez. The oldest megalithic complex in the world was built around 4500 BC in the Neolithic era and is located on the Breton Kernéléhen peninsula. The dimensions are enormous: the structure which weighs 14,000 tons, is 72 meters long, 25 meters wide and 8 meters high.
Trelevern. A camper's dream came true including an exclusive ocean view and private beach access.
Mont Saint Michel. What a bummer! No drive-by possible, you need to park your vehicle and get on a bus just to get close to it. A massive tourist trap! So we part with a snapshot from the distance and head off in direction of Caen. In the Normandy we were surprised by the pretty and hilly hinterland, but we were disappointed with boring looking beaches, ugly coastal towns and nevertheless packed campsites. Finally we found a quiet camp spot in Gonneville sur Mer for our last night.

The following day it took about seven hours to return home, including a very relaxed drive on the French and Belgian motorway. What a great trip! We'll be back to Brittany for sure.

LG SonjaM
