Absolutely nothing happened in Vegas, really!

Time flies by when you're having fun. A week later we were headed towards Las Vegas again, as we had planned to drive through Death Valley, and needed an overnighter in between. This time we had booked a hotel at the strip to be able to explore Sin City on foot.

With Vegas it's a bit like with New York, either you love the buzz or you hate it. We love New York, but Vegas? Not so much. We couldn't find a good reason to drink us into a coma, something that people seem to find very intriguing when visiting the City of Sin. Besides, we don't gamble, and we are not interested in obtaining STD's of any kind. This has nothing to do with any religious beliefs, we are just not wired that way. Also, we had visited places like Venice, the Eiffel Tower and The Big Apple in real before, so the miniature copies didn't impress us much.
OK, it wasn't that bad ;-) The hotel had a laundry and a great pool area. So we made good use of both.
Some of the most recent architecture is quite beautiful.
Well, we could have visited a show, but for reasons unbeknownst to me the spousal unit couldn't agree with this one.
We slowly trotted down the most important 4.4 miles of the strip.
Although fairly old (for Las Vegas standards) the Bellagio with its fountains is a real eye catcher.
 Fake ahoy!
 Nothing beats the real thing!
Arriving at the other end of the strip with the 'blue hour' beginning.
 Turn on the lights!
 The Whynn and the Encore.
And there will be singing gondolieri.
The long walk made us hungry and we were in the mood for pub grub.
 Taxi?

I should have known better than ordering a salad here. It was buried in cheese.

After spending five hours on the strip, we found that was enough for a lifetime. Now we were looking forward to the next highlight of our journey: Death Valley.

Bryce-Canyon in Utah:
