This morning my better half had asked me to confirm safe arrival at the office because he was worried about the weather and driving conditions. I sent him a picture to prove that everything went swimmingly.
Then around 2PM we experienced a power outage in the area. It was on and off again, and we had lost our internet connection, too, so the boss gave us the rest of the day off... well not really, of course he expected that we would continue to work from home. So, here i am sitting in my 'home office', which is actually the dining table... working.
Some good news: It seems the Mayan calendar wasn't interpreted correctly. Doomsday has been postponed for another century, and Apocalypse is now scheduled for 2116. All is well.

ReplyDeleteAs you can guess, power outages up here are a big deal and many have installed ways to power their boilers or furnaces using generators, it necessary.
We use our generator too often, trees take limbs down back in one of the valleys where repair is slow. Without the gas engine, no water, no heat, no ......

ReplyDeleteI pretty much get the same thing for lunch everyday. Today the woman taking my order asked me if I wanted to change up. She went on to tell me people had been trying new stuff all week just in case the world ended on Friday.

Whew we just managed to avoid the apocalyse, you know what that means don't you, more motorcycling riding(well maybe not you but us lucky buggers down under it does).

You definitely have more snow that we do. Ours melted by the next day.
ReplyDeleteOur power went out at 7:30 pm on Sunday for an hour. No heat, no lights, but we had candle power and blankets. No interruptions at work though although it would be preferable.
