Nicht hübsch, aber schön (warm).
Bei Temperaturen um die Null Grad wurde inzwischen auf dem Roller (trotz Beinschutz) recht frisch. Also bin ich zu Polo und habe mir diese lange Unterhose besorgt. Was für ein Unterschied. So gerüstet wird weder das Kaltwetterfahren, noch die Winterwanderung ein Problem werden. Ich freu' mich sogar über die Kälte!
The proper gear makes all the difference SonjaM! Long Undies are key! As are heated grips if you ride can power them....I've yet to wear my heated vest, but everything else has been put on lately.

ReplyDeleteYou'll have to let us know how they work. My Rev'it pants do the trick when riding, but hiking can get rather chilly with just jeans.
ReplyDeleteHaven't had the need to longjohns unless I plan on being outside for a long time at sub-zero temperatures and working hard such as when skiing. On the bike, the insulated jeans seem to be sufficient but maybe that's the same thing.
ReplyDeleteSonja, to me "underpants" means "underwear" as in jockeys, boxers, or panties. Those underpants are "long underwear" or "long johns". It's funny how language adapts locally and the same words mean different things and bring to mind completely different mental images. Someone said (I think it may have been Winston Churchill) that the Brits and Americans were two peoples separated by a common language. It's perfectly acceptable to parade around in long underwear here. Of course in Europe there are many places where it's perfectly fine to parade around in nothing at all. Vive la différence!
ReplyDeleteThese look like they'll do the trick for you Sonja. As kids, brother and I were always in long johns but we were always outside, sitting and playing in wet snow. These days, I only recently picked up a set of tops and bottoms that only get worn for cold weather riding. For me, it's just a matter of where the layers are, underneath or further out to the surface. Plowing snow on the tractor, insulated coveralls work well. Back in the house, they're off and I'm back to comfortable.
ReplyDeleteIch habe das Thermoboy-Hemd. So richtig warm ist das trotzdem nicht, trotz FLM-Unterziehlangarmshirt, Tchibo-Wollunterziehhemd und Thermoboy-Hemd drüber. Unten an den Beinen Wollstrumpfhose, Wollunterhose (tschibo), FLM-Funktionsunterhose.

Bevor sich hier einer wundert: ich fahre auch bei -12°, wenn die Straßen trocken sind ... ;-)
Wärmend sind übrigens die Filzeinlegesohlen für meine Stiefel. Immerhin halten die 15 Minuten länger warm - das kann wichtig sein ...
