With riding season coming to its inevitable end, and a busy October coming up, this might well have been the final opportunity to take Rover for a spin. So, when opportunity knocked I sneaked over to our stable, and started up my all too neglected 2008 Harley Davidson Sportster 883. Without complains, the bike was up and running smoothly. First things first I checked the tire pressure (all good), and gave it a refill at the gas station. Oh, it felt so good, so right, roving the Black Forest on my other two wheels for a change. Regrettably I wasn't able to capture any spectacular autumn colours for you yet, the leaves just haven't turned much to this time. Instead I am sending you a happy smile, and greetings from the road.
Das wird's wohl für dieses Jahr gewesen sein, die Mopped-Saison neigt sich ihrem unvermeidlichen Ende zu, und da der Oktober fest für andere Dinge verplant ist, wird dieses wohl die letzte Möglichkeit für mich gewesen sein, Rover auszuführen. Als sich die Gelegenheit ergab, schlich ich mich also in den Stall und startete meine viel zu sehr vernachlässigte 2008 Harley Davidson Sportster 883. Diese sprang sofort ohne Probleme an und begann fröhlich vor sich hin zu brummeln. Ab zur Tankstelle, Reifendruck geprüft (war in Ordnung) und aufgetankt ging es dann auf die Straße. Ah, es fühlte sich so gut und richtig an, wieder mal auf dem Bike durch den Schwarzwald zu düsen. Leider gab es bisher noch keine spektakulären Laubfarben zu entdecken, der Herbst hat hier noch nicht richtig angefangen. Stattdessen gibt es von mir für Euch ein zufriedenes Lächeln (oder ist es ein glückliches Grinsen?) und beste Grüße von unterwegs.

ReplyDeleteDom, normally I wouldn't dare say such a thing especially with guys like yourself or Richard out there but for the Sportster, and likely for myself, season has to be put to an early end this year.
DeleteHave you had much opportunity to ride the Harley this year? I don't remember reading any posts (but I can't vouch for my memory).

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to go on a big road trip with the Sportster this year, Richard. A few escapes, a handful of day trips, that was it. Several things came in the way of traveling with the Harley.

I am going to try and find some here, Brandy, but leaves seemed just dried up, and getting brownish.
