2002 we rented an RV for our first road trip through Western Canada.
2003 we got a pickup truck with camper cabin for another road trip through Western Canada.
2004 we rented an RV again and went on a road trip through Yukon and Alaska.
After a long hiatus we are back to moto camping in 2016. This time we chose to travel in a Karmann Dexter camper van through Germany and Denmark.
2017 we rented a bigger rig and visited Switzerland and Italy.
In May 2018 we go small, and rent a tiny VW camper van to explore Eastern Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia.
Finally serendipity (and fate) lead us to the to the vehicle we own today, and we hope to get many miles and smiles out of it.
Life is good.
Das Leben ist schön.

Nice roll call of past campers....
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dom.
DeleteNice history of RVs. I still get use out of the tents though it's getting harder to crawl out in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Richard. The morning routine of getting out and getting up isn't as smooth as it had been in the past.
DeleteInteresting evolution report. Your life does look good from here! And I don't mean that in a weird way, I mean I admire your new vehicle and imagine many fun adventures lie ahead for us. I say "us" because you do such a good job sharing your travel experiences.
ReplyDeleteKathy, you are right, our lives look good, and we have no reason to complain at all. The move back to Germany came at the right time, and we made the best out of it. Had we staid in Canada, we would have likely gotten a pick-up with a camper box by now ;-) Thanks for sticking around.
DeleteLooking forward to many, many more trip reports!
ReplyDeleteThere will be in the not too far away future, David.
