The mission: Execute relocation from the Black Forest into the Rhine-Neckar region, find new tenant for an early release out of the current rental agreement while looking for new accommodation in the target region, organize the move and all accessory administration.
As per today we are all set and settled and all dealings with authorities, legalities and official paperwork are finally done. YAY!We are looking forward to exploring a fairly new to us environment: the region is Kurpfalz, the forest is Odenwald, and the beer is Woinemer. And bonus: the local tongue is so much more intelligible. Cheers!
Der Auftrag: Durchführung eines Umzugs vom Schwarzwald in die Rhein-Neckar-Region, Suche eines Nachmieters zur Verkürzung der Kündigungsfrist sowie Anmieten einer neuen Wohnung in der Zielregion, Organisation der gesamten damit verbundenen Aktionen und Administration.
Alles erledigt, wir sind eingezogen und Neubürger, und alle Behördengänge und sonstige Verwaltungsdinge sind erledigt. Hurra!
Jetzt freuen wir uns schon darauf, diese Gegend besser kennenzulernen. Die Region ist Kurpfalz, der Wald ist Odenwald und das Bier ist Woinemer. Es kommt noch besser: Wir verstehen den regionalen Dialekt hier so viel besser. Prost!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Geoff, it was in fact a work induced move, and ithe new location lies near Heidelberg which is a 2,5h drive north from the Black Forest. Too far away for a daily commute,
DeleteMoving your home any distance is a major task. I don’t envy you at all. But it looks like an interesting area and Roland looks satisfied with the beer samples...
ReplyDeleteWe have some experience with relocation, Richard, and not too much stuff. We always try to get rid of unused or unnecessary items before we pack by selling, donating or recycling, and what’s left then usually fits a small truck.
DeleteSounds like you've got the logistics of moving down to a science! Congrats on the move that places you that much closer to Heidelburg! Magic City. I look forward to your explorations of your new home.
ReplyDeleteOver time (move #11) we have indeed become quite good at it, Dom. Heidelberg und surroundings were always on our bucket list of places we would like to live and when opportunity knocked we were both in prompt agreement to pack up and go.

DeleteNa das sind ja mal Neuigkeiten! Wie kam es denn dazu? Gratuliere zum erfolgreichen Umzug, lebt Euch gut ein und viel Freude beim erkunden der neuen Heimat. Freue mich schon sehr auf die Fotos. Wir haben ja noch drei Jahre bis zu einem erneuten Umzug *lach*.
ReplyDeleteWir hatten nach 7 Jahren Schwarzwald einfach mal Lust auf was Neues, und da kam das Arbeitsangebot für Roland zum rechten Zeitpunkt.
