On the opposite hill lies Königstein with its famous castle ruin from the 12th century.
We spent a weekend in the area, exploring medieval cities, a castle ruin and Roman remains on foot and on four wheels.
While Roland preferred to indulge in the hotel's amenities, I went hiking in the Wisper Valley.
Over all it was a nice getaway for a weekend but the quality of the hiking trails were a bit underwhelming.
The hiking may have been underwhelming but the photos of the buildings are really cool. (At least to me)
ReplyDeleteI was also impressed with what we had discovered (never been in that area), the hiking trails were no single trails but mostly forest roads and gravel. It was ok but not more than that.

Hallo Werner, den Feldberg gibt es ja gleich mehrmals in Deutschland, einmal im Taunus und dann nochmal im Schwarzwald.

DeleteI thought of you today when we got to a campground in Chiapas and there was a Eurovan from Lucerne. They seem pretty tough to live full time in that space!
