Martin Luther went to school in the city of Eisenach. Johann Sebastian Bach lived here as well. They could have been buddies if it weren't for the two centuries separating them. Their family homes were a mere hundred meters apart.

Close to the city on a nearby peak lies the famous 12th century castle of Wartburg, where Luther later translated the bible. We didn't do anything there but devouring likely the best Thuringia sausage there.
We had a huge thunderstorm and high winds that night but made it through without harm or damage to the VW camper van.
Bisher hielt ich Wartburg nur für ein Objekt mit vier Rädern, man lernt dazu! Die Burg sieht ganz toll aus, auch die Schluchtwege würden uns gut gefallen zum Begehen.

Die Geschichte Martin Luthers haben wir seinerzeit im Religionsunterricht "durchgekaut", daher war mir die Wartburg eher ein Begriff als der Wartburg ;-) LG SonjaM
