Magic forest and colourful vineyards

The next morning the town of Kirn was still enveloped in fog, and it felt pretty cold. However when climbing uphill I was able to shed layer by layer, while watching the fog give way to sun and blue sky. In St. Johannisberg a skywalk offered a nice view into the river valley. then I took a detour to visit castle Dhaun, an 11th century castle.


















A steep single trail lead me down to Simmertal, alas restaurants were closed this time of the day. Then the path went on towards Weiler and Monzingen, alas the bakery was already closed for the day. Suddenly a lady called me "Hello, come over please. Do you want a coffee?" Hell, yeah! She treated me to coffee, a spritzer and cookies, and we chatted about... actually everything. What a great day and what a nice encounter!

    Schön, dass sich die bedrückende Nebelstimmung noch aufgehellt hat. Dazu die tolle Einladung zum Kaffee, da hat der Sonnenschein gleich doppelt gelacht!

      Es gibt wohl kaum etwas Schöneres, als die Sonnenstrahlen durch den Nebel brechen zu sehen. Und die Begegnung am Ende der Wanderung war ein unerwarteter Höhepunkt. LG SonjaM

    was fuer eine nette, unerwartete Bekanntschaft in so einem Moment, schoen, dass es solche Menschen noch gibt. Und wieder wunderbare Eindruecke.
