Chalon-sur-Saône is a lively town located in the Saône-et-Loire department, along the banks of the Saône River. It is historically significant as a former Roman port and later a major trading hub in Burgundy. Chalon is best known as the birthplace of photography, thanks to Nicéphore Niépce. The town features a charming old quarter with half-timbered houses, and the Saint Vincent Cathedral. Traffic was a bit chaotic though since there was a lot of construction ongoing.
Tournus is another historic town on the banks of the Saône River, best known for the Abbey of Saint-Philibert, a masterpiece of early Romanesque architecture dating back to the 10th century. With its pink limestone façade and massive cylindrical towers, the abbey is one of the oldest monastic buildings still standing in France. Tournus also offers charming riverside views, medieval streets, and a reputation for fine gastronomy and wine, making it a rewarding stop in southern Burgundy.
We found a lovely campground situated in the vineyards nearby the village of Santenay and called it a day after having a barbecue which Hilda seemed to enjoy very much as well.

Das Burgund können wir sehr empfehlen. Landschaft, Kultur und Kulinarik sind vorzüglich. Außerdem scheint Frankreich sehr Hunde-freundlich zu sein. Wir haben überall ungefragt Wasser für den Hund bekommen. Mitnahme ins Hotel und auf den Campingplatz war nirgendwo ein Problem. Und überall war sie gern gesehen. Wir haben überhaupt keine negative Erfahrung gemacht. Vielleicht wäre das auch etwas für Dich? LG SonjaM
DeleteDas tönt alles sehr gut, danke. Aber obwohl Loki auf Katzen kaum reagiert, er hat leider immer noch viele andere Schwachpunkte. So eine Reise mit ihm allein würde ich mir momentan noch nicht zutrauen.
