A perfect day for Crocs

The sun is shining, the sky is blue, the roads are wide open, and the well maintained ever so winding  Sea-to-Sky highway along the Howe Sound offers an incredible scenery from turquoise waters to snow capped mountains.

As per rule of Bob there has to be a minimum of one meal per trip! Hence we stopped in Squamish for fish and chips.

Also, we visited the local farmer's market and strolled along the various (weird) shops.

Eventually we took the same route back to Vancouver. A little detour brought us to Whytecliff Park on the Vancouver North Shore, where we took the opportunity to cool down.

Small windy roads lead us to Eagle Harbor, the last highlight of today's trip before we entered the city limits and parted ways.

Definitely a perfect day for Crocs!

Motor oil, chain cleaner and chain wax, Duct tape, Bungee net and Rok straps, cable padlock, power plug adapter, light bulb set, fuse set, spark plug, first aid kit, cable ties, wrist support and throttle rocker. That was fun! Thanks so much y'all for your help on this.

Still on my list: GPS mounting kit, air pressure gauge, tire repair kit for tube tires.

Bob and I haven't decided on a communication device just yet, but the most convincing model so far seems the F4 Intercom system. To be continued...

Food and stuff

With the Oregon trip only a few weeks away, it was good to hook up with Bob, and get some more ideas about the timing, the route and what to bring with. Today we met at a food place, and discussed our travel plans over a shared burrito and Mexican lemonade.

We require a com system, waterproof and with the widest possible range.
I need a GPS, well, actually I have one, I just need a RAM mount, and a ziploc bag to make it waterproof, plus a power adapter.
Also, I plan on getting some basic spare parts (headlight bulb, spark plug, siphon in case I am running out of gas, tire repair set).
Dear fellow bloggers, please feel free to suggest anything that might be useful and should be carried on a longer trip (and it doesn't have to be necessarily yellow...)

Back at home I got mail. My - of course - yellow Ortlieb Rack Pack has arrived (hence the pic). A completely waterproof bag for my clothes, and other items that won't fit in the Pelicans and top case. Good stuff! It will also serve me well when I go canoeing.
