A Sunny Winter Afternoon

It rained, and rained. A lot. All week. Around freezing temperatures. All in all no fun weather, not even much fun to drive. However, Sunday morning the clouds gave way to blue sky. After having been confined to indoors for so long we were eager to go for a hike. Above 600m the wet stuff turned into white stuff. The snow made crusty noises under our feet as we followed the trail uphill and visited our most favourite place in the Black Forest, All Saints Abbey. We even spotted wildlife! A day that compensated for all the poor weather of the last week!

Motorcycle Haiku

Not long ago I stumbled across the work of Matsuo Bashō, a 17th century Japanese poet, most famous for his haiku poems.

Of course this made me google for some contemporary motorcycle themed haikus, and indeed there are. This one by one Michele Carlton spoke to my heart:

And miles of highway ahead
Life is beyond good!

Motorrad Haiku

Do not disturb!

Conducting a research.

Research comprises "creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge..." Source: Wikipedia

As a matter of fact it looks like this: Relaxing on my couch, cuddled under a blanket, while it is drizzling outside, and reading through my coffee table book collection. Methinks this will make an appropriate winter pastime.
