Today I went on a 360km round-trip to explore the areas north of Auckland. The quality of the roads is good, despite the occasional gravel, and the lanes wind through hills and valleys with changing vegetation.

@bobskoot: Well, to be honest, it would be perfect if I had my fellow traveller with me, and a motorcycle as well ;-) But who am I to complain... I take it as it is. @Gary: I could manage to bring helmet, gloves and boots, but the jacket and pants didn't make it here, too much weight. The motorcycle rental places have weird store hours, so far I didn't manage to get there in time. @Canajun: Thanks for the advice, I will try to go there next weekend. It looks great from what the travel guide tells.
