The Things you do for Work

Re-arranged my private schedule, booked my flight, traveled on the weekend, woke up in another time zone...

... and as an homage to Bobskoot, I already got my feet wet.

A kind person offered me guidance on my first day, picked me up and showed me around, invited me into his home, and fed and watered me, demonstrating once again the great hospitality that these island species is known for.
I had a wonderful day, thanks to Roger and his partner willing to spend their Sunday off with a perfect stranger.

Tomorrow will be a work day, and my inner clock is telling me that it's 2AM, so I am calling it a day.

    1. You bet. If it only wouldn't be so far away from the rest of the world. But I guess that's what makes it so special.

  2. It sure doesn't look like winter is threatening there. The beach looks wonderful. I'm sure that your company is extremely thankful that you are willing to make the sacrifice...

    1. My company should be happy that I can comply with those last minute requests so easily...

  3. You are braver and more trusting than I. I doubt I would go to a stranger's house alone.

    1. I also have a belt in self defence, my life insurance. But so far I have only met wonderful people in the motorcycle world.

  4. Awesome.

Not only did work send you somewhere tropical but you got to meet the famous Rogey.

How do I get a gig like that?

  5. Down Under!! No that's a trip!! New Zealand is supposed to be as close to paradise as it comes on planet Earth. Take pictures and make posts to make us envious.

    1. Days are getting shorter, so during work days I won't have much opportunity for pics, but I hope to be able to make up for it at the weekend.

    1. My luggage is already overweight, so I doubt he will fit. But I can try...

Isn't it the most wonderful thing to know that Roger has a "spare" bike. That must be a first with Roger wearing his favourite apron, looks pink from my angle.

Have a good trip and hope you get some free time for yourself

    1. Bob, I won't be pushing Rog to letting me use his other bike. However, I brought my gear with me just in case...

      Free time? What's that?

  8. Great to hear that Rog is taking care of you in our absence! We'll be back from Western Australia at the end of the week and maybe we can spoil you a bit more :-)

  9. You did all that for work - you are sooo committed, really!
Honestly have a great time (work and all). It's terrific that you get to meet fellow riders and bloggers in such a spectacular location. Enjoy.

    1. Actually the company doesn't do that... too afraid that people might ask for more money :-)

  12. That looks like a great getaway. I cannot think of anything better to do than go to NZ and meet fellow moto-bloggers over there. I hope to do exactly that in early 2013, so fingers crossed. Have a terrific time over there and don't work too hard. Okay, you should, because that means you can take these great trips!

But hey, maybe one day I will...
