Working up an Appetite

It was a hot and humid morning, but we went jogging anyway. There are several options for a loop around the village, however, they all begin with a steep uphill track. But once having reached the apex one will get rewarded with a gentle and fairly relaxing slope back home.

This time we finally managed to overtake a giant snail.
Picturesque sights make it difficult to just continue running.
Not joking: We are really trying to get fit(ter).

Of course there is always motive and reason behind the exercise: Food, and lots of it. In anticipation of a mouthwatering experience we visited the Sushi Lädle (Lädle = local dialect for little shop) in Fellbach, a small-town northeast of Stuttgart, while visiting a good friend (from Canada no less).

The sushi was surprisingly good. The verdict: a solid 7 on a scale of 10.

Yummy! Even Roland liked it.

    1. I'm afraid it involves some kind of sweaty experience followed by fatigue. Actually we are still waiting for the fun part to kick in...

  2. I agree with Dom. The discouraging part of running (or jogging or walking) is how efficient the body is at conserving energy. Only ~100 Cal/mile.

    Really nice looking sushi!

    1. Richard, unfortunately we are aware of this and still pretend that it does something for us ;-)

  3. I like walking at a brisk pace and hiking but not too much jogging. I have done a few 5k's and enjoyed them. Hopefully you will enjoy it, if not go for a hike instead.

    1. Brandy, that we do on the days we are not jogging. But a hike takes longer to burn the same amount of calories, time that we sometimes don't have ;-) hence the 'running'.

  4. Hammering joints....not my idea of good exercise. Bikes and my current employment are enough for me. Whew! Stopping a lot along the way for sightseeing is the correct way to jog. Not everyone knows that secret :^)

    Sushi looks lovely.

  5. I used to be a runner - note 'used to be'. My joints just can't take the pounding anymore. I do have to get up off the couch and get moving though. I think I am as sluggish as the giant snail you found. On another note the sushi looks yummy!
