Too soon?

Today's 'lunch walk' had a nice surprise in store. In the morning it had snow-rained in the valley, producing some seasonal white stuff in the higher regions, and two weeks earlier than last year. For some reason the first snow always gets me excited, a notion that usually becomes less and less as the winter progresses, but never mind. I would love to do some trail running, but hard impact sport is still on my no-go list for now. So I am going to take it soft and slow. Never had I imagined that one could actually develop a craving for running and mountain biking...

Mein heutiger Mittagsspaziergang bot eine nette Überraschung. Es hatte am Morgen Schneeregen gegeben, welcher in den höheren Regionen als Schnee liegen geblieben war, zwei Wochen früher als im letzten Jahr. Irgendwie finde ich den ersten Schnee immer aufregend, auch wenn dieses Gefühl normalerweise nach und nach verschwindet je länger so ein Winter dauert. Aber egal! Am liebsten würde ich jetzt eine Runde querfeldein joggen, aber harte Erschütterungen stehen bei mir immer noch auf der Verbotsliste, also geht es auch weiterhin langsam und sanft voran. Ich hätte niemals gedacht, dass ich einmal so etwas wie Sehnsucht nach Jogging oder Mountainbiking entwickeln könnte...
