In Italy by the Lake

'Nuff said! The title in itself is self-explanatory. In Italy everything seems la dolce vita, with excellent cuisine, friendly people and historic places.

Der Titel "Italien, am See" sagt eigentlich schon alles. In Italien ist alles la dolce vita, dazu die großartige Küche, die gut gelaunten Menschen und die historischen Orte. 

This is Cannobio, an ancient town with records documenting the village's first mentioning way back in the 9th century. Some of the buildings date back over 600 years. It couldn't get much more Italian than that. The flair, the relaxed atmosphere, the distinct scent of spices, tiny restaurants and bars where one will be served authentic cuisine made from regional produce. It was so much fun to explore the narrow streets that were built long before motorised two or four wheelers of our times had to fit through. This is why most of the inner city remains a pedestrian zone with the exception of scooters, and tiny trucks for transportation and services. Please enjoy the pictures from our stroll around town.

Das ist Cannobio, eine alte Stadt, die zum ersten Mal bereits im 9. Jahrhundert Erwähnung in den Büchern fand. Manche der Gebäude sind über 600 Jahre alt. Viel italienischer als hier konnte es gar nicht werden. Das typische Flair, die entspannte Atmosphere, der Duft von Gewürzen, winzige Restaurants und Kneipen, in denen man authentische Küche aus regionalem Anbau bestellen kann. Es war einfach toll, durch die engen Gassen zu schlendern, die gebaut wurden, lange bevor motorisierte Fahrzeuge unserer Zeit hindurch passen mussten. Aus dem Grund ist der Stadtkern auch immer noch Fußgängerzone. Ausnahme sind Roller und kleine LKW für Warenlieferungen und Straßendienste. Viel Spaß beim Durchblättern der Bilder.
