As I don't intend to go on major road trips in the next few months I stripped the bike off the sissy bar, tank bag and the windshield, and swapped back to the solo seat.
I like the unobstructed view over the handle bar
and find that a Sportster looks best raw and bare.
The temperatures were in in the low 10C (50F), there was a chill in the air.
Fall, my favourite season.
Although not as spectacular as the Fall foliage in the East, we will get our share of changing colours.Maybe our Autumn will be reasonably dry and offer some more outings before having to wrap up the Sportster season for this year (not the Vespa season though... Paolo will go all year round.)
Sonja. I love the look of Rover 'nekkid'. I haven't ridden my scoot really in wintery weather, what makes the scoot a better winter ride than a motorcycle? Love your pictures. I was out on Lucy today looking for fall leaves, not so much here yet. I did find some pumpkins though. It was an awesone day for riding today, hope you were able to get out & enjoy.
ReplyDeleteIch stimme Dir zu. Nackig sieht die Sportster am besten aus. Und das Bild mit der Harley vor der alten Villa. Großartig
ReplyDeleteViel Spaß und unfallfreie Fahrt
Wünscht Uwe
@Dar: Fall season is best for motorcycling (that is if rain doesn't make the fallen leaves too slippery). I guess Vancouver Island is too 'tropical' too start with Fall just yet ;-)
ReplyDelete@Uwe: Schön, dass es Dich noch gibt. Auf Deinem Blog ist ja länger nichts mehr passiert, da macht man sich so seine Gedanken... Herzliche Gruesse von der We(s)t Coast.
There's no doubt about it, Rover is a fine looking stead!
ReplyDelete@Nikos: Thank you, when I saw it naked, I said: yes, this is how Rover needs to be.
ReplyDeletelove it! sonja have you considered a trickle charger? it will save your battery plus easily double its lifespan (on a hd).
ReplyDeleteI've got to say, your Sportster does look good in black with its stripped-back look. Good pictures of it against the turning trees too.
ReplyDelete@mq01: Don't you need a power outlet for this? In the parkade I would not have such a thing.
ReplyDelete@Gary France: I am in love with that bare look, however, one need to transport things every once in a while, and a backpack although practical becomes uncomfortable for me after a while. Maybe I will go for some leather saddlebags.
