Quarry Pond Serenity

We have an abundance of creeks, and brooks and rivers, some even come with waterfalls, however, we got no lakes in the close vicinity, just a few ponds.

So, we'd have to make due with the artificial water holes we got and visited... a nearby quarry pond for a change.

The quarry proprietor maintains a walk way around the pond in collaboration with the village, and even provides a fenced beach where people can actually go for a swim and be safe, because by nature the undercurrents of these ponds can be quite dangerous.

On the other end of the lake was a bit of a dodgy looking cafe, but we had worked up and appetite, and were ready for a cool drink and a bite to eat. And I can tell you, were we in for a surprise!

The place called Haus am See (house at the lake) catered to vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets. The eats and treats were delicious, and bonus: Sonja had a scoop of lactose free vanilla ice cream, drowned in espresso. Ah, life is good!
