Raindance

My plans for a proper workout on Saturday were cut short a bit by two things: work and weather. While I am perfectly capable of dealing with the latter, the first was a difficult one to get away from... ah, the bliss of working in materials management: inventory count, data entry and evaluation, and it always comes with a deadline.

So, instead I got up early on Sunday, grabbed Spike the Bike, and went out for a ride. It was a bit nippy at 5°C, and it drizzled. I wasn't at my best, didn't get enough sleep and suffered from back pain, so I decided to make for an easy loop through the valley.

And while the weather wasn't cooperating, my body and soul were very much so. I felt reenergised and and happy, also because in the meantime, my better half had taken care of necessary housekeeping and I was welcomed by the aroma of freshly baked bread. Life is good!

Regentanz

  1. A rejuvenating ride, even engine-less and hubby welcoming you with a clean house and fresh bread....sounds like a good Sunday.

    1. It turned out to be a great Sunday indeed, Dom. Plus we went out for a walk later, just enough exercise in order to be able to endure another week in the office...

  2. Sonja, it sounds like everything is just ducky in Deutschland, at least in your corner of it, which, by the way, is a very, very nice corner.

    1. David, I could certainly do with less work (there is so much to do, so many places to see...) but other than that, all is well with our little world in the Black Forest.

  4. And the bread was? Sourdough? Rye? Here, at least it's blue sky and sunny today- with the typical penalty of subzero temps.

    1. It's a mix of buckwheat / rice flour / quinoa sourdough bread, Martha. The man has become a very talented gluten free baker.

  8. Sonja, what exactly is that trail/road in your header photo? A trail for public access? Motor vehicles use it? Looks like what we'd call a Hill Road here on the farm....curious about what generated the ruts.
