The new BMW C600 Sport. A touring scooter combining mature BMW technology and scooter elegance. What's not to love? I am definitely hooked. More pics here.
Sonja: So-called "scooters" like the Beemer actually blur the differences between a motorcycle and scooter and that's no bad thing.
On the round NZ in 5 days organised ride (yep, low flying rather than riding)I did in 2005, there was a sizeable scooter taking part. I think it was called a Yamaha T Max. The rider met all the checkpoints within the allowed time and only took about 4 hours longer than us on our Blackbirds and the like. Think that says it all!
@RichardM: I am not sure if the e-version is beyond concept right now.
@Guido: BMW presents it on the current EICMA in Italy. I guess it will soon be available in Europe.
@Geoff James: Geoff, I guess there isn't much a scooter can't do. Remind me again, why do you have to make it around NZ in 5 days again? I would go as slow as possible...
@motoroz: Isn't it?
@Trobairitz: It's a start ;-)
@Gary France: What can I say, hubby loves it. Doesn't mean I give up on 'real' bikes ;-)
Really, even with its step through (almost) design once you get up to 600 ccs is really a "scooter" anymore? And how about that C650GT - just a wolf in sheep's clothing. They definitely need to call it something else.
no no no
ReplyDeletegiant loud American-made V-Twin!
I will admit it got my attention.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure....maybe it will grow on me.
ReplyDelete@No Name: there is a time for everything...
ReplyDelete@Circle Blue: Keith, that was my first reaction, too. It got me curious.
@Raftnn: Roger, this is the perfect upgrade for my hubby! If we can get it, it will be his.
The Concept e (for electric) is also interesting. I wonder when the GS version is coming out?
ReplyDeleteAs Keith said, it got my attention.
Richard
Nice find! There was a concept for this for a while, but it's interesting that it seems to come closer to reality.
ReplyDeleteBut - enough bikes in the garage for now ... ;-)
