Little escapes

What is better after a long day at work than going for a little spin in the evening. One of my favorite places is Belcarra.
A shady spot for Nella
Me, not much gear on this hot summer day (helmet, light gloves, leather jacket, jeans and riding boots)

Today I stopped at the Woodhaven Swamp, an eery place even during daytime... and walked the swamp loop.
Swamp
I continued to the shore, and spent some time sitting in the sun on the dock. It still had some 30+C.
Back in the parking lot a very sweet and shiny Beemer caught my eye, and it's owner had obviously spotted my Nella. First I thought that must be The daily Rider, because the model was an R1200R.
He wasn't, but the guy had actually met Lumpycam somewhere on the loop. Meet Mike Z., a reborn rider (2 years ago) and professional photographer. He had recognized my Nella from the Video that Bob had taken on my maiden voyage. Motorcycle riding is about riding as well as meeting people. Small world, this WWW. Ride on, Mike. See you on the road...

  1. Ha! That makes me want to do an evening ride tonight - if I get my bike back from the recall work. Chain and sprockets get replaced and some tubes rerouted ... hmpf ... BMW is unlucky with too many recalls lately.

  3. Hi there, a nice blog and lovely photos. I too am an amateur cook and an enthusiastic biker and I love getting the big red machine out of the garage at every opportunity. I follow the Canajun and saw your comment there, I will follow with interest.

  4. How about that, he reconised Nella! Or did he spot you wearing those yellow crocs? Together both are a give away....
