My baby is back!

After 49 days in the shop. And she looks prettier than ever with all new front right turn indicator, right rear mirror, wind screen, front mudguard, right fork tube, right footrest, right hand protector, right fairing panel, engine guard, and related spare parts. And since Nella was so patient, she got the 30,000km inspection on top, a couple of thousand klicks ahead of time.

I took her out for a quick spin, and she was purring like a cat, and happy to be out in the open again. The roads were wet but cleared of snow, and with relatively mild temperatures around the 5C (40F) mark, it was a good feeling to be on two wheels again. If weather is like this I really get to appreciate my First Gear Kilimanjaro jacket, the lined Frank Thomas leather pants, and those awesome Alpine Ridge boots.
We. Are. BAAAACK!

Distance: 40km
Weather: light rain, calm, 6C (43F)

  7. @Oz: Every weather that is not snow is good weather
@George F: It was seven very long weeks indeed... the shop wasn't the fastest but in the end they got the job done.

  12. Wow! 49 days. Which parts were hard to get or is there some other explanation from the dealer?

Now to start knocking off some of those trips on your list.

  13. @Richard: Mostly lack of parts, probably some bad planning, and a week lost to bad weather (couldn't pick 'er up in deep snow)

  16. I am very pleased Nella is back. The first picture looks as if you were misty-eyed to see her again! It was good that you were able to take her out so soon for a ride. You said she felt go ride again, but how did you feel riding her? I hope you had no hang-ups from the accident.
