The day was bleak and grey with merely 12C (53F), and the orchard was hazy with the smoke from nearby shrub clearance fires. It started drizzling and we donned our rain gear.
The true signs of spring: Yours truly wearing Kevlar Jeans, a summer moto jacket and a 3/4 helmet. This, and oh yeah, blossoms, buds 'n' other green stuff.
Running simple errands equal 72km of scootering.

Nice photos, especially the color contrast with the Vespas. How much longer before green starts to show up on the trees?
ReplyDeleteRichard, the buds are showing already, I am sure it's just a matter of one or two more weeks.
DeleteIt must be spring like if you can ride with your face uncovered. (My magnolia is still buried totally, under the snow.)
ReplyDeleteKaren, the 3/4 helmet still has a visor. I never ride with the face completely uncovered (well almost never…)
DeleteIt just really occurred to me that you never had winter.
ReplyDeleteThe Integra looks very interesting. Looking forward to the report.
That is so true Martha, we had to visit old man winter in the mountains to see him, he never came down to see us in the valley.
DeleteWas that a magnolia blossom? I think I am going to have to pay a visit to the Honda dealer soon, I wonder if the Integra will be offered here? Hmmm looks pretty cool, would be very interested to hear Roland's thoughts on it, particularly if he test drives it.
ReplyDeleteDar, I believe it is. Not sure if the Integra will make it to Canada. I am guessing Honda had designed it for the European and Asian markets.
DeleteThese spring images and the feelings they invoke are what real spring is to me......coolish temps based on last autumn, but warm-feeling post winter. Bright Vespa's, fresh new blossoms and that Sonja smile inside all of the hazy grey are about the actual springs we finish winter off with. The picture books show butterflies and rainbows.......they'll come soon enough.
ReplyDeleteCoop, you are a closet romantic, eh? I saw my first butterfly today...
DeleteI am glad you two got out and managed to dodge the rainstorms. We were out yesterday too and it was nice to ride through the valley and see all the blossoms.
ReplyDeleteThe Integra sounds interesting. I like that it has full sized wheels, good for longer trips, potholes, etc.
I am going to have a peak at your blog later the day hoping for some west coast spring pictures.
DeleteThe Integra wheels are indeed of normal motorcycle size, which should give the bike so much more stability. I am curious what Roland's verdict on this two-wheeler will be.
