Fooling around - Ich will Spaß!
Still looking for a more Black Forest compatible, nimble vehicle I had wanted to take a closer look at the Honda NC 750X DCT but alas, that model wasn't available for a ride. Since I had gotten that far I'd better get something tried out that is available. This is how I came to taking a gander at the Ducati Scrambler. The dealer was basically throwing the keys at me, so I took it for a spin.
The scrambler was a special model with a custom exhaust, a nice seat and an adjustable clutch lever. A beautiful, nimble, lightweight piece, and mighty pretty in its retro-look. I am smitten...
Could this be the right bike for the twisting, rugged, single lane roads... it somehow feels right.
Das wäre was für die kurvenreichen, holprigen, z.T. einspurigen Straßen... es fühlt sich jedenfalls gut an.

From a Harley to a Ducati.....hmmmmm
ReplyDeleteA good thing...?
DeleteVery cool bike!
ReplyDeleteSweet looking bike!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha - a friend of mine in the US has owned a Scrambler for a couple of years and loves it. He had a minor reliability issue early on, complains about the hard seat (easily fixed with an Airhawk) and the limited tank range - all about "fitness for purpose". He also owns a Street Triple for longer hauls. I will watch subsequent posts with interest :-)
ReplyDeleteWe'll see how it goes, Geoff. It's certainly high on my wish list...
DeleteLooks like a pretty nice bike. Did it follow you home?
ReplyDeleteNo, Richard. Not yet anyway. Need to try out some other models first.
DeleteOh, ich finde sie sooo hübsch. Wenn jemand ein anderes Moped, dann dieses!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, and probably better suited to the narrow, winding roads over there than the Harley.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly the issue, David.
DeleteThe machine for the job is what you need. I'm not drawn to Ducatis and never have been for some reason though they are beautiful. I'm in a major scooter phase right now. I feel I should move beyond it when I leave Key West. Perhaps this is my fate. Perhaps the Scrambler is yours...
ReplyDeleteWe'll see, Michael. I am out on about my Vespa almost every day now that spring is in full force, and it makes me happy, too.
DeleteNice looking bike. I have always been smitten with the Ducati Scramblers, just not their price tag and dealer network in Oregon.
ReplyDeleteI bet that it felt a lot lighter than the Harley too.
Yeah, I really want to take one of these for a spin, but I also really don't want to take one of these for a spin--if you catch my drift... ;-)
