Why don't I have a desk?
One downside of the consulting business (there are indeed more but I don't want to elaborate on this now...) is the challenging ergonomic environment. When I am with a client I sit all day long in an uncomfortable chair, often with my computer in my lap (hence the name laptop, I guess). No surprise that I am in desperate need of a chiropractor by the end of the week. But I find myself in good company, since Scully (X-Files Episode 4x13 - Never Again) once asked the same question...
At least I get a room with a view on occasion. Only this week without the colors. It is all black and white out there, the only change is from light to dark grey. I haven't been out on the road on two wheels for almost two months now. I am craving a change of scenery, and season. Enough with the white stuff, looking forward to the returning of the green stuff now.

ReplyDeleteI'm blessed here in the Pacific NW with being able to ride pretty much year around. Tell you what, I'll ride for you today. I'm certain that will make you feel better.
Now about the ergo issues, I'm afraid I'll be of no help in that department. My apologies -:)

ReplyDeleteI also rode for you today. Nearly Spring here in Vancouver. around 8c but a warm 8 as opposed to a cold 8. I dusted the bike off, removed the battery tender and it started just like I just turned if off. I took pictures for you too. What are friends for ? If you are really feeling depressed, then I can go for another ride, for you of course.

@ Bob: I can't even remember how Spring and a warm 8C must feel. Sigh! Can't wait to see the pics. The virtual ride on your backseat will certainly cheer me up, my friend ;-)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. My office is the end of my couch with my laptop on my lap, cell phone beside me. A desk would be nice but would probably just attract all the clutter.
