I Believe I can Fly

Sometimes I think riding Alonzo through the Black Forest comes close to it. The twisty roads almost make it seem that way.

For all we know internet can be a dangerous thing. But yet again, for me the positive experiences completely outweigh any bad ones as it really helps connecting with people. Good people.

So, when I posted about our arrival in a Vespa-Forum, a guy got in touch with me, and not only invited us two complete strangers over into his house, but also offered Roland his white Vespa GTS300 to sweeten the time while waiting for Bella, Rolands red GTS250. This extraordinarily hospitable gesture (not your typical German attitude) reminded me very much of a certain bunch of friendly Kiwis...

Came Saturday we met for a few hours of two-wheeled bliss, and while the kind gentleman and his partner rode his other scooter (a Burgman 650) two-up, Roland was in Vespa-heaven.

 And off he goes...

On our way home we came across a viewpoint where a group of para-gliders had gathered for a thrilling experience. Kudos to those brave people. However, we preferred to stay road-bound and 'flew' our scooters home instead.

Nur Fliegen ist schöner!

In einem deutschen Vespa-Forum lernten wir Frank kennen. Da der von Kanada importierte Vespa-Roller des Gatten noch nicht angemeldet war, bat dieser Roller-Kollege spontan an, Roland könnte ja seine weiße GTS300 fahren. Was für ein großzügiges Angebot! Und wer kann dazu schon Nein sagen. Gesagt getan, wir trafen und und so zogen zwei Vespen und eine Suzuki Burgman gemeinsam durch den Ortenau-Kreis über Weinfelder Richtung Kappelrodeck und dann bei Freudenstadt retour. Auf dem Rückweg beobachteten wir Gleitschirmflieger, die über unseren Köpfen kreisten, und kamen an ihrer Start-und Lande"bahn" vorbei. Ein beeindruckender Sport, aber wir bleiben doch lieber bei unseren Vespen.
