It was the first day without rain storms, hail or high winds, so I got to test some new features on my Sportster.
Most of is year's additions have been rather functional: A cradle for my TomTom Rider GPS, a cigarette lighter socket, forward foot controls, small risers for my handle bar, a luggage rack and a black sissy bar (quick snap, and only mounted when on a road trip).
Also, I had black powder coating done on the engine guards, the air filter cover, the headlight cover, and I added black buckshot heat shields to the exhaust pipes. Of course the bike also got its regular maintenance with fluid exchange, and a set of brand new tires. The Sportster is running better than ever. Let it roll!

Good, functional farkles out on their first ride aboard the Sportster. Nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks, they are minor and rather cheap additions but they do the trick.
DeleteLooks very good
ReplyDeleteThank you, I like it too.
DeleteSo glad you got out for the first ride of the year on the Sportster.
ReplyDeleteThe additions look nice. How did you like those forward controls?
Brandy, I had some minor adjustment issues, trying to find the pegs below... but they are so comfy, and my bum knee thanked me later.
DeleteBoy, that's a good looking ride. The whole scene makes me want a two wheeled road trip. Fat chance.
ReplyDeleteOh, Martha I am so ready to roll. And soon I might... Your time will come.
DeleteThat's starting to look like the Sportster 883 I almost got to rent ;)
ReplyDeleteI certainly would have liked to see you on a Sporty, David.
Hach, danke Minya. Das geht runter... meine Sporty sagt artig danke schön.
ReplyDeleteThe upgrades look pretty good and I like the look of the powder coated parts. WIth the addition of the forward controls, the mid-controls are removed?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Richard. The mid-controls had to be removed but that's alright. My bum knee suffered for too long, with the different angle I can ride pain-free again.
