Auckland is a big city that makes an effort not to appear like it, although 30% or approximately 1.4 million people call it's metropolitan area home.

There are a few highrise buildings but the majority are family dwellings or low-rise apartment houses. The city is green, clean and safe, offers year-round mild weather and is surrounded by water.
Hence, no surprise
that it has been voted as one of the most livable cities in the world,
and most livable it is.
